Nellie is a ten
year old AKC registered Welsh Springer Spaniel whose second
owner had to part with her due to some very challenging health
issues within his extended family. Nellie was also surrendered
with Duke, a nine year old field-bred style English Springer
Spaniel and they came in to foster care together. English
Springer Rescue America will be working to find Duke a foster
and a forever home in the near future.
Nellie is overall healthy and very low-key. She and Duke are
used to trotting alongside their former owner’s bike for a
four mile ride around a lake near their previous home, so
neither dogs are couch potatoes. However, both do love
attention and a good romp in the local dog park or a long
walk. Both are used to being house dogs, are housetrained and
crate trained, although they really don’t need to be crated.
As seniors, they just hang out when their people have to leave
for a while.
