SIRE OF THE BITCHES---WESTFALL'S GUSTON AKC DL45107902. Color: Dark brindle. Birthdate: August 27, 1992. OFA Excellent.

Westfall's Guston continued the tradition of breeding correct type, size, and outstanding movement. He was a slightly smaller version of Dutch Champion Leon Spinks v.d. Overstort and retained most of the features of his sire. Never shown because of teeth ruined in a fight through a chain-link fence, however, he sired many beautiful Bouviers.

Parents of Westfall's Guston:

His Sire: Dutch Champion Leon Spinks v.d. Overstort . NHSB 1550360. Born on August 27, 1987. AKC DL41715301. Hips OFA Good. Color: Black.

Leon was acquired by Westfall's Bouviers in 1991 from Joop and Annie Pater of the  Netherlands. He had just finished a great show career during which, he was for a short time the top show dog of all breeds in Europe. Rated as "Excellent" at most shows, he was very large and powerful, had correct movement and possessed a  strong, beautiful topline not usually found with a dog of his size. A black coat of the proper texture and a large head of the correct proportions were his trademarks.

Leon's temperament was featured in an article in the February 01, 1993 issue of the BOUVIER NEWS  magazine published by the Netherlands Bouvier Club.

As a stud dog he had few equals. The sire of:

Junior World Champion Danissa Soray off Soeranda's Home.
1991 Junior World and Dutch Champion Roxette Leon v Hogenbirk.
Dutch Champion Roxanne Leon v.d. Overstort.
American Champion Faiva's Inxs vd Bearington.
American Champion Faiva's Isadora Duncan.
American Champion Harras.
American and World Champion Lady Janis Bianca vd Duca Vallei.
Canadian Champion Upper Gaby vd Cerberushof.
Junior World & World 1991 Champion Umpire Gaby v.d. Cerberushof.
American CD, NA, TT, HIT, CGC Westfall's J Leona Spinks.

Many untitled dogs that were sired by Leon became the patriarchs or matriarchs of their own families. His breeding has survived because not only because he was a noted show dog, but because he produced good hips at a time in Dutch history when many of his competitors did not.

His Dam: Westfall's Brandy: Born June 10, 1990. Female. AKC DL343194/04 Color: Fawn. OFA not tested.

Westfall's Brandy was the pick from eight bitches in a litter of eleven puppies. Her sire, Ch. Zarco Iris v.d. Cerberushof, was Best of Breed at the American Club Specialty in 1988. Owned by the Paquette family of Canada he had been imported from the Netherlands. He sired a number of champions in his lifetime including Ch. Quiche's Nite Ryder, the Best Of Breed at the 1993 and 1994 Specialties and Ch. Quiche's Maverick, 1992 Specialty Best of Breed. Resembling her father, she always looked good and had a floating movement.

Westfall's Northern Starr was the dam of Brandy and the first puppy bred by the kennel. Starr, like her daughter was sired by a dog owned by the Paquettes of Canada. Their dog, Ch. Quiche's Gabriel,  was the number one Bouvier in conformation in the United States in 1985 and 1986. High in maternal ability, she produced a number of beautiful, healthy Bouviers.
