What is Geography?

Geography is the study of the earth's surface and the processes that shape it, the connections between places, and the complex relationships between people and their environment.

What do we do in Geography class?

I believe there are many ways to learn. In 7th grade Geography, we will learn about the world around us in a variety of ways. Some class periods will be spent learning in our seats in nice straight rows, but a great deal of our time will be spent learning using a "hands on" approach.

We will work in small cooperative learning groups. Each person will be responsible for doing his or her part to make the group a success. Some grades will be taken individually and some as a whole group grade.

What will we do on the computers?

We will learn many new skills on the computer.

	Research a topic on the internet.
	Create and save a document in Microsoft Word.
	Make and read a graph in Excel.
	Create a Power Point Presentation.
	Cut and Paste pictures from the internet.
	Gather information from the internet to use as a resource for Geography projects.
